Inspiration

Growing up in Woking as the son of a UK Gospel journalist, Teelow was exposed to a wide range of music. The likes of Fela Kuti, The Winans, The Streets and Lemar were regularly heard in his household, but it was always Hip-Hop he was drawn to for it's poetry and artistry

He fell in love with the production of the likes of A Tribe Called Quest and J Dilla. That sound paired with the lyricism of Lupe Fiasco and, later, Kendrick Lamar, became the template for Teelow. He began to create his own versions of the music he loved, rewriting his favourite songs and re-chopping samples from iconic artists.

His writing style was furthered by a love of reading and movies, which grew his hunger for story telling. Using the works of C.S. Lewis, George Lucas and Malorie Blackman to grow his creative mind, his lyrics and ideas became more expansive, using imagery as a key component of communicating a message.

Dedication

This self-learned method became key in his late teens, when a move away from home led to a decision as to what he really believed. In investigating Christianity and culture independently, he found the Bible to be the perfect blend of everything he loved about music, reading, movies and story telling.

This, along with an understanding of the industry and the hunger to reach those who weren't being reached, led to the dedication of Teelow's life to creating high quality art that honestly details all aspects of faith and life. This realisation, paired with youthful ambition, saw Teelow release multiple music and video projects, as well a s organising a 10-stop tour of youth groups at the age o f 18.

After years of studying and working on his craft, Teelow spent a year with The Message Trust, fine-tuning his skills in production and communication of the Gospel. This year also taught him how to put together lessons and sessions to take into secondary schools, colleges and churches.

Elevation

Since then, Teelow has continued to release projects. Writing and producing all his work and executive producing projects for other artists, he has created a distinctive sound, blending all his inspirations into a new style of faith-inspired music.

His music has been featured on BBC Radio London, Premier Gospel, UCB Radio, Affinity Xtra and more. He's also been interviewed on national radio shows, showing his ability t o create faith-inspired art that is accessible to diverse mainstream audiences.

He has also developed a reputation as an excellent performer and communicator performing across the country and in Europe on his own tours. Over the years, he's performed at Big Church Festival, CreationFest, UCCF Forum and Word Alive. With a talent for navigating difficult topics like racism, relationships and the balance between God and culture, the future looks promising for Teelow.

“The show was incredible - so fun and engaging. I was taken back by the realness of the lyrics and the atmosphere of authenticity and vulnerability - it felt like people were free to express themselves. Love and joy was so present.” - Emily Ferarri, University Student
